Pratical guide to directing for children's and youth theatres
Abstract
In this text, I share the process of creating performances for children and young people throughout my career as a director, with the aim of contributing to artists whose interest lies in this type of creative activity. I highlight the stages in which I began to organise my creation, in a personal and informal tone, but which carry indications that I consider fundamental, as they emerge from the practice accumulated in different experiences, matured by experimentation and constant evaluation of working methods and the affections they aroused. The guide format aims to summarize the choices that have guided my work, as well as arouse interest so that they can be activated by other people interested in directing youth and children's theatre.Keywords: Theatre direction; Creative process; Youth and children's theatre; Brazilian theatre.
