Call for contributions - Rebento Journal Issue 16
2023-05-12
Issue number 16 of Rebento Journal, entlited "The parade of collective and peripheral marginal theatricalities: disputes and meeting in group theater" opens a call for contributions that focus on the aesthetic-militant resistance of collectivized artists from and in the Brazilian peripheries. On the agenda, processes of creation and invention in performing arts determined, above all, by the group theater as a historical subject, articulated in historical, geographic and/or aesthetic cuts. The editorial proposal is designed like a samba school parade, which inludes: (1) FRONT COMMITTEES: male and female creators who "make the party", in different historical moments; (2) THE OLD (AND PERMANENTLY) RENEWED GUARD: the chain of founders and the historical transmission; (3) PASSISTS AND HIGHLIGHTS: actresses and actors, from the "foot-on-the-ground" wings to the allegorical cars; (4) HOUSE OF "BAMBAS": male and female authors and directors who prepare the track and band plots together; (5) AESTHETIC AND SOCIAL APOTHEOSES: reception and criticism of the group theatre. What are the expedients that collectives appropriate, from popular forms of culture to epic theatre, perceptible in artistas and their restless works, created collectively? How were they organized and how do they settle down today? The 16th edition of Rebento suggests revisiting memories, late tributes and current debates about the space of group theater, in its most recent transformations, passing through aesthetic experimentalism and revealing insights into this multifaceted element, so decisive in the history of these theatrical productions, that are little or not yet documented in the theater. Artistic productions, thoughts, aprehensions, memories, methodologies, production models, discourses, confrontations, paths intertwined with individual and/or collective narratives and other approaches can add visions about the funding triggers in the processes of theatrical collectives and the points of view and propositions practices that govern their trajectories. Therefore, and if there are materials, it is intended that the theme can be presented in more than one issue. Contributions must be sent to the Rebento Journal platform (<https://www.periodicos.ia.unesp.br/index.php/rebento>), from 11/05/2023 to 13/10/2023, for publication in September 2023.
